Worried About Your Cat’s Urinary Health?

Your veterinarian is the expert on your cat’s health, so you should always consult with this trusted advisor to find the best urinary health solutions for your pet. Royal Canin works closely with veterinarians to develop cat formulas that help support urinary tract and bladder health.

  • A veterinary-exclusive cat food for cats with urinary health concerns.
  • Helps dissolve pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones.
  • Lowers the risk of crystal formation using RSS methodology for bladder health.
  • Supports urinary health with an exclusive S/O Index, and creates an environment unfavorable to crystal formation in the bladder.
  • Helps prevent struvite stones from reoccurring.

Royal Canin Urinary SO is a veterinary-exclusive dry cat food developed to nutritionally support your adult cat’s urinary tract and bladder health. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. It increases the amount of urine your cat produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. And this specialized nutrition, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps dissolve pure struvite stones and prevent struvite stones from forming. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some cats. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your cat on this urinary cat food for long-term urinary support.

Transition Instructions

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Transition Day Current Diet New Diet
Days 1-2 75% 25%
Days 3-4 50% 50%
Days 5-6 25% 75%
Day 7 0% 100%
